Hey look at this beautiful girl! Her name is Alisia and she is one of my students in the English class. She is smart and quick to learn new vocabulary in English. Each week my team and I teach 3 days a week in the home of our ministry host. We have around 20 students ranging from the age of 4-19. They are eager to learn English. Once a week we teach a bible lesson to the kids, I think this is one of my favorite days because we get to play act the stories and tell the kids how much the Lord loves them.

What has the Lord been teaching me here in Guatemala? DON’T DRINK THE WATER!!!! Ok but for real you can get sick from drinking the tap water. Thankfully though the Base I am staying at has clean filtered water in all the sinks. So I just have to be careful when going out.

Staying present mentally is one of the hardest struggles being so close to home. God reminded me of the time I thought I could not take another step while hiking through the Himalayan mountains. We had been hiking all day, and I was tiered and mentally done. But then my friend came up to me and began to thank God out loud for the ability to be there, the strength to hike, and for our bodies…. In that instance I realized I had become so me focused, I was shutting everything/one from my mind and becoming “sick” in my head not wanting to be where I was because it was hard. But because she came along side me and changed my mindset of “ugh I can’t do this” to “wow God is so cool” I was able to continue to climb with joy. My legs literally felt so much better after changing my mindset. I think this is a life lesson for me I was able to experience it fisically and now when I long to be home i am able to change my mindset and rember just how cool God is that he put me here. Look around today and see how God is so good.

  1. As you and your team get closer to coming home, it is difficult to stay present in your ministry. I will continue to pray that the Lord will give you all divine appointments; His strength; good health; protection; and, the ability to listen to what the Holy Spirit wants you to do.Your blog is such a good reminder as we take the focus off of ourselves. God is so good!
