Hello friends and family! Thank you all so much for being patient with me as I have been settling into Guatemala and saying goodbye to India. I have not posted in a long while so now is the time!
Saying “goodbye India” was probably one of the hardest things I have had to do. I became very close to Lilly and Hazel who are in there thirties. They welcomed us into their homes and made us family. They stuffed our bellies full of chia tea and bisects (cookies) and filled our hearts full of joy. They taught me hospitality, out of what they had, and how to care for one another unconditionally. They will for ever be my dear friends.
You may be asking, “where in India was she?” I was in North East India in the state of Manipur. This area is so well protected by the Lord. The Hmar people are such a testimony of God’s provision and faithfulness! If you have time look them up; because you will be encouraged by their story.  Have you heard about Bibles for the World? They are now based out of Colorado Springs but the founder is from Manipur India in the Hmar tribe. Any how lots of stories to come.

 Goodbye India Hello Guatemala!

I am in Guatemala my last county! I am excited to be home in just nine weeks. But I am so excited for the ministry God has my team and I doing here. Today we went to our ministry hosts house and shared a meal with them. Elsa made fish soup; it was delicious! We spent the day investing in Elsa and Angel (my Guatemalan mama and Papa) hearing their testimonies. They are each around 50 years old and are so amazing; they love the Lord so much. My team and I are teaching English in their house 3 days a week. The rest of the week we are teaching English in a school and doing house visits in our town. The house visits are especially fun because it is helping build relationships in our town for the Guatemalan missionaries to continue reaching out to. Our village is called Calderas. It is snuggled right up against a volcano. It is absolutely gorgeous. I am falling in love with this people and culture! Thank you all for helping me be here and supporting me in this journey with the Lord. Love you all!

  1. Emili, we love reading your updates. What an adventure! So much for you to process in such a short time. You can never know this side of heaven all the ways the Lord is using you. But trust He is, while growing you and your faith. We can’t wait to see you and hear more. Sending our love and prayers to you and your team! The Verrier’s xoxo

  2. Emili;
    Thanks for the update. We continue to pray for you. Boy, did I have a lot of questions
    for your mom when she came home. Keep up God’s work. There is someone out there
    who will believe in God because of you. Can’t wait for you to come home. Take lots of
    pictures to show me.
    God bless and keep you. Grandma

  3. I wish we’d have met Angel and Elsa. And Hazel and Lilly as well. I’m thankful the Lord has given you people in each place to fill you up. And NOT just on cookies and tea!

  4. Love hearing about your adventures and how the Lord is training you up to further HIS kindgom! Thanks for being so informative and helping us feel and see what you are experiencing.

  5. It is so good to hear what God’s heart has been doing through yours! I continually think on how, someday, we will stand right next to those from around the world–whom we know by name–praising Him!

    I know home is beckoning…we are praying for you as you stay the course, eyes fixed on Jesus. Your heart of service will be (and is already!) rewarded in so many ways! He has so much to teach you and those with you.

    Praying blessings over you, Emili!

  6. Thank you Emili for your informative discourse! I read everything you post. You and your sister Nikki are amazing to me. Thank you for the incredible work you are doing to bring people closer to God.

  7. It was so good to hear an update. Continually praying the Lord shows you amazing things in the small details. He is so wonderful in His love for all people. I am glad you are experiencing the different cultures.
